Dear Community,

As you know, all of the restaurants in our area are shut down. Many were outlets for the same farms that we work with. While we are doing our best to support our farmers we also feel as though it’s time to support our local restaurants and their staff.

We are once again turning to you, our customers, in our friends’ greatest time of need. We are launching our, “Butcher’s Bag” program in hopes of feeding those workers who have so often have fed us. Each donation will go into a fund, which will be used to provide a Butcher’s Bag for an out-of-work restaurant staffer. Prior to the launch of this program, we received enough donations to supply 20 people with a Butcher’s Bag and would love to see that grow!

If you are interested in donating, please visit https://squareup.com/store/maine-meat

Let’s talk numbers. In order to be completely transparent we want to take a moment to explain how this works. Each bag that will be passed out will contain 3 meals worth of meat for 1 person and will have a value of $20 wholesale cost. We are not asking for minimum $20 donation- any and all amounts add up!

This is the first time we’ve ever done anything like this so there may be some hiccups initially, but we are confident we will iron them out. We have spoken with Chefs from around the Seacoast who are poised to assist us in helping as many of their staff members as we can.

Let’s go!
